The ISU has released its Grand Prix Announcement 2013-14, revealing the minimum total score and TES for skaters and teams assigned to this year’s Grand Prix events, determined as 3/5 of the highest scores from each discipline at the 2013 World Figure Skating Championships. Teams who achieved these scores at any ISU championship, Grand Prix event, or at Nebelhorn Trophy (pairs and ice dance) or Cup of Nice (ice dance) last season are already eligible, while those who have not yet met the minimum may still attain it at one of these five Senior B events this season featuring all four disciplines: U.S. International Figure Skating Classic (Sept. 11-15), Nebelhorn Trophy (Sept. 26-28), Ondrej Nepela Memorial (Oct. 3-5), Finlandia Trophy (Oct. 4-6), and Coupe de Nice (Oct. 23-27).
Minimum Total Scores:
Pairs 135.42
Ice Dance 113.73
Minimum TES scores:
Pairs 20.00 (SP) 36.00 (LP)
Ice Dance 22.98 (SD) 32.19 (FD)
All North American dance teams currently assigned to the Grand Prix met the required minimums at one of last season’s eligible events. However, while U.S. pair Britney Simpson & Matthew Blackmer, assigned to Rostelecom Cup, attained the TES for both programs at all of their 2012-13 ISU events, they have not yet met the total minimum and will likely be attending at least one B event in the coming months. New pairs Lindsay Davis & Rockne Brubaker (Skate Canada International) and Natasha Purich & Mervin Tran (Trophee Eric Bompard) have also, of course, not yet had the opportunity to achieve the minimums as a team.
